SHORT SKI STORY and no Quilting..........

It is still the NORDIC SKI WORLD CHAMIONSHIPS here in
Oslo, Norway. Such a super feeling when we cheer all
the skiers, whether they win or not;-)
All Norwegians please bear over with me,I know you
watch TV or listen to the radio or may be you are
at the right place at the right time!!

I know: Keep your posts fairly short...but just now
quickly a few non-quilting pictures I like you to see.
Almost the whole of Norway are participating in joy over
the gold medals we receive just about every day:))))

Skiers are usually happy as my little GD:

Some are worn out as they pass the finish line:
Here are a few of the men really worn out.

First two of the women pass the finish line also worn out:
But they eventually got up,receiving their medals with
big smiles:))))

This is the medal stage-scene down town at Oslo University arena.
Yesterday approx 100 ooo people joined the happy winners. Looks
like a demonstration, but just a big happy audience.

Very patriotic we bring our flags and cheer loudly.

Downtown interesting ice-sculptures:copies of the painter E. Munch:

We dressed warm my non-quilter friend and I.Here we are
last Saturday.Freezing cold day but enjoying the life in
our main street,Karl Johans gate, closed for traffic during
this fortnight of the skiing events.

At the moment:now relaxing by
knitting on the grey wool jumper.
My GS he is 8 years on March 29!
Next time promise you a couple of
nice blocks for you to see here
at my blog:-)

Those ice sculptures are amazing...I live further south than Chookyblue and we certainly do get frost and sometimes minus temperatures but not like you, minus 5 is about as far down as it goes and that is not usual..and it certainly wouldn't get cold enough to be able to maintain ice sculptures outdoors like that...

Takk for hyggelig kommentar hos meg. Kansje på tide at 200 kronersgrensa blir høynet. Ha en super dag.

Thanks for sharing the excitement! I am very impressed by the ice sculptures as I have never seen anything like them. My city, Vancouver, hosted the Winter Olympics last year and could never have offered ice sculptures because the temperature was so mild (snow had to be trucked to one of the local mountains so that the events could carry on!)
