blog-hop "SAY IT WITH FLOWERS" -- the story of my new wall-hanging.

May is Spring and Spring is Flowers.
Thanks to Sam and Carol who are arranging the May month
challenge  "say it with flowers". Check their invitation for this
challenge, we are about 60 bloggers that have joined, from May27
up to June 4. I have enjoyed  making a wall hanging quilt.

This one is pot plant, and it has survived lots of rain.

GLAD now to show you my secret-for-a-month wall hanging :))
My story of this wall hanging starts.
But first the list of the 10 blog-hop friends also showing their finish
for the day :)) Please check their blog for what they have been making!

On April 30th this book came in the mail box. I made the order from
the Piece O`Cake 'Designs,USA,such a super book with easy in instructions.
I knew Piece O`Cake designs from before as I already am the
happy owner of  their "Welcome to the North Pole" book.
(thanks to Melanie who finished that specific quilt a long time ago.)
On the right there you see the designer`s vase and 3 flowers.
Easy pattern to follow, love their choice of really sharp colours.

Another 12 pictures on it`s way, make yourself a nice a cuppa
and enjoy whilst reading. I think that might be very wise :-) ... lol ...
Some lazy-daisy stitches on the flowers.
I have used hand applique and machine.
Bleeding heart and Hortensia need more warm sun.
Yes, crying out for more warm weather is the Rhododendron
as well as some seeds .
I went to the flower nursery for some colours. Almost up to now
we have carried the summer flowers inside during the cold nights.
On a Sunday we started off for a little walk very close to the sea:
my husband, my daughter and my granddaughter...
and mind you, the quilt as well...great!
Here among the white, wild Anemones.
Beautiful white Lily tree here with the a lovely scent of soon-full-Spring-tobe.
My granddaughter loves climbing, I don`t, check my last picture :))

No waves this day so I was not afraid of Eline falling into the salt water.
Too cold to take a swim though!
All fabrics were found in my boxes/stash; the border is a Liberty fabric, and as
you now see the backing is the butterfly one made by Lakehouse fabrics :))

Oh, what a blogger has to go through hoping for a good picture !!

Must have a break now, you I mean, I`m sure!! Thanks for reading and
I hope you enjoyed some of the pictures :))  I`m already planning
what to do next week, border for the pinwheel table-cloth and
fabrics for a project bag soon to be sewn.
Till later one day all the best to you from me,Grethe xx.

What gorgeous flowers and good inspiration from your book! Will you be making the whole quilt in the future?

Yes, what does a blogger have to do to get a good picture? Me, I borrow the neighbors fencing as we have ugly but practical chain link and a far from scenic yard.

Enjoyed my visit with your this morning!
