Nice sewing weekend ......... and NO ice-fishing ...

New batic bag for my next quilt-meet, just finished on a misty Sunday afternoon.
Remember the kit I bought at the Festival of Quilts last August?
Here it is: "Melanie`s Bag" from Hanna`s Room.
My weekend started on Friday and I`ve been busy with sewing this bag.
Yes, it did take time!
Well, I did not go ICE-FISHING on this misty Sunday. My husband did:

A pic of  another of the guys trying his luck. My DH caught some fish,
but gave them away to somebody,
who`s wife had not prepared chops, baked potatoes and salad like I had !!
My weekend was enjoyable in the sewing room.
Long time since I had sewn a bag.
Well, struggling a wee bit, but great result!

How come one long and one short seam? It was corrected!
The pocket was done accordingly to what it said on the pattern,
at least  I thought so ......
But how come it finished on the side of the bag ?? ... lol ...

Great bag, love the style and the colours!  It reminds me so much about the nice meeting I had with  my blogging friend Melanie when we first met up at Festival of Quilts :-)
This will be my OPAM finish for February. Have already had a good look in my UFO-boxes and  know what to start next. CU soon, meanwhile wishing you a nice sewing-time ahead!

The bag looks very nice and you have done a great job. Ice fishing looks interesting-- is this done over a river or lake that is iced over? Certainly not seen it done here.

Great bag :) Was a bit funny with the pocket inside LOL, but that's much better than having the pocket upside down like I once manage to do.

Flott veske! Heller på syrommet enn ute på isen, ja!
Ha en fin uke.

Lekker veske! Enkel prioritering, spør du meg! Isfiskefrister ikke når syrommet er et alternativ!

Hei Grete! Så flott at du la igjen en kommentar på bloggen min (tusen takk!) - for da oppdaget jeg den flotte og inspirerende bloggen din! Her var det mye spennende! Utrolig fin veske i nydelige batikkstoffer. Blir kjekk å ha med på quiltmøte, den! Hilsen Liv Aagot :)

The bag looks great, and you can have the inside pockets anywhere you like! Maybe the pattern wasn't written too well.

The bag looks lovely. The straps are very unusual and add real interest. I would love to try ice fishing but it looks a little scary. Such a contrast to our summer lives. Well done all that sewing and a beautiful meal as well.

Knallfin veske. Da er det bare å fylle den med nytt sytøy og ta turen på quiltemøte.

I think you are smart staying home and sewing, ice-fishing looks very cold!...I'm really liking everything about your new bag, enjoy using it...

I had to chuckle at the name. Great work Grethe. Sometimes mistakes can creep into a pattern, or maybe that is where the designer wanted it to be? Lovely colours.
