Full Pot of Inspiration, part 1.

Yes, we were "all" there at the Festival of Quilts in England, always in the month of  August - come sun, come rain -  always in the month of August. Inside we enjoyed ourselves, gorgeous quilts, super shops and of course so nice to have friends to chat to!
(this quilt is made by Rita Dijkstra of Holland, named "Many Faces, Many Cultures")

A small rucksack is now officially accepted at the entrance,
and ANY sort of shoes were ok. Have a good look :

Well, Melanie and I had both black rucksacks and trainers;
very appropriate we apparently both thought.
Most special to be meeting up with Melanie; my sort of blind date !!
Here we are meeting the worlds famous Kaffe Fassett.
He`s signing his latest book, and we had a nice chat with him :-)

We enjoyed a good-tasting lunch Melanie ,Brian her DH and I, and lots quilter`s talk as well :-)

Thanks a lot for bringing me this to be taken back to Norway.
Great Melanie, thinking about you each time I take a cuppa ... LOL ...

Happy time with Marit and Tove at the lobby of our hotel.

We could not resist these sweets after a big meal of tacos.

My "personal" long arm quilter ,Merete, had brought her big machine with her.
She was demonstrating for 4 days and made lots of quilters very interested.

So pretty colours of the flowers, hanging on the windows at the hotel were we stayed. See trees and the sky in the back ground of the sort of mirror....... Well, I know what you`re waiting for.....

Very slow writer these days - one finger-touch only - Tell you more in the next post.
1000 quilts were shown at the Festival of Quilts. Soon some of them here on my blog.
Tomorrow that might be, lots for you to enjoy and may be you will be just as inspired as me!
Till then all the best, from Grethe.

Nice quilts, nice flowers, but nice and nicer food, I am a food addict I think.

Å det ser så koselig ut, flott tur du har hatt..
Melanie er bare så skjønn og flott dame.
Quilten du viser med multiculturell ansikter er helt fantastisk ! God bedring til fingeren ;-)

Looks like you had a wonderful time! You probably need a vacation to rest up from your little vacation.

It was so much fun meeting you. I am sorry I had so much on my mind. I think next time I ought to be there for a couple of days. :-) Being able to tell Kaffe Fassett how influential he has been in our family was a real privilege.
I am going to create a page just with the quilts on as I went a bit click happy taking so many shots.

I am so glad you had a lovely time. I look forward to meeting you under more happy circumstances.
