Sunday 4 March 2012

First month of Spring ... Yes,the lovely month of March is here ...

Hopefully we do not need mittens any more;not till next winter, that is. Happy as days pass by because FINALLY my TTS top is done and resting peacefully at the long-arm quilter for being machine quilted.
This is Merete, she will do the quilting.
Why does she point at my quilt? What did she spot? It looks perfect to me ... LOL ... Soon to have the quilt all finished, pack it away (really?), then ready for Christmas 2012. But just wait,I`ll post a picture in a week or so :-)
My dear quilt-friend Reidun has her birthday on March 5 (lots of us celebrate in March, don`t we!!).This is my present for her.Safe to be showing you as she`s not a blogger.Hand-applique, hand quilting together with the machine in the ditch.A pattern from Anni D at Hatched and Patched called "Happy Home".Big party for Reidun tomorrow afternoon. The weather forcast says sunny and clear;great for her big day :0)
Working towards May 18. That is my little Grand daughter`s birthday. Some blocks left to do.When I`ll show you in a couple of months,I`ll make the bears smile even more.I haven`t received all the blocks yet,but will by April,rush-rush.
Well, slowly working on my Scandinavian Christmas. This is block 2.I love doing this quilt. Nice details, like the eyes of the rein-deers and here the two big "mushrooms". We have these red and white ones in our woods, very poisoning to eat. You`ll die instantly when taking a tiny bite. See my three lamps on the left hand side: more lights, less mistakes :-) + the sewing machine has a good one too, which means things will look fine in the end!

Wishing you all a happy week. Lots of activities for me in the coming weeks:lovely big cream-cake to be eaten, our annual Norwegian Quilt Meeting in Bergen and soon Gail P.and Helen S.are coming, all the way from Australia giving work-classes at different quilt-shops in Norway.
Yes,an exciting, interesting and busy month of March :o)
Till next time then, all the best

I think Merete is pointing at the lovely fabrics you have chosen and the beautiful stitching. It is going to be lovely when finished. Your little hanging for your friend is very sweet and the teddy quilt is going to be gorgeous. Lucky granddaughter. Hope you had a lovely birthday, best wishes to you.
Have lots of fun with all your upcoming events.
